Trogir is a small charming town located in the heart of Dalmatia on the coast of the Adriatic Sea in Croatia, only 4 km away from Apartments Medena.
The apartment complex Medena has a regular boat line that runs to the city of Trogir in the summer months, and if you are not a fan of boats, there is also a bus line to Trogir next to our complex. It was founded as a settlement by Greek colonists during the III. BC. From the Greek Tragos, the Roman Tragurium, the Italian Trau, to the Croatian Trogir, it is known for its preserved architecture. In the old town, you will find many religious buildings and landmarks from the Romanesque, Renaissance, Gothic, and Baroque eras. This is why the entire old town is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
As soon as you cross the old bridge built in Roman times, entering the old part of Trogir, you will travel to the past and experience the history of Croatia in a completely different way. The Cathedral of St. Lawrence, Kamerlengo towers, and St. Marc, the main square with the prince's palace, the Ćipiko palace and its walls are just some of the many sights that are worth visiting.
Kairos – the god of the happy moment. One of the most beautiful examples of Greek art in our region is the damaged relief of the Greek god Kairos from IV. BC. Today it is kept in the monastery of St. Nicholas in Trogir. Kairos is considered the god of the happy moment, the one who appears once in a lifetime, giving man the opportunity to "grab it by the tuft". Whoever succeeds in this is considered lucky, and their wishes come true. Kairos moves silently and quickly among people, giving them the opportunity to catch him. By its very appearance, Kairos calls for vigilance, caution, and courage!
